For several weeks, Heidi, Ian and I have been planning a surprise birthday party for Jen. We think she is pretty terrific and want to show her how much we love her and admire all she is doing. We sent out the invites for many of the people that she loves and that love her and schemed a plan to get her to our house at 7:00 PM on her birthday to SURPRISE her.
We went to dinner with Grandma Scott and Sue at Chili's and then asked Jen to come home for cake and ice cream. She agreed to the plan (thank goodness) and it worked out perfectly.
There were about 50 people waiting to surprise her as she entered the house. She said she was completely surprised.
As part of the surprise, we asked that everyone bring a children's book, signed by them for her gift. It was so fun to see her open all these wonderful books. She was overwhelmed by it all. I think she liked it.
