Gift of the Sea

Ever since reading The Gift of the Sea by Anne Marrow Lindberg where Anne spends days by the ocean writing and contemplating life, I have wanted to have such an experience. I love the ocean.  I feel peace when I am near there.  It definitely was on my bucket list.

So when an opportunity became available for me to take a trip to California this last month, I jumped at the chance to go.

I would be going to a Hay House conference and hearing some of my favorite motivational speakers and then end with a trip to the ocean to spend some time writing.

I booked a ticket to the Hay House conference in Pasadena, CA.  Then I booked an airline ticket, a hotel and a rental car.  All of this was done in May and the conference was in October.

October came and I was so excited. I cannot even tell you how excited I was.

The first night of the conference I listened to one of my all time favorite motivational speakers, Wayne Dyer.

He has spent a lifetime exploring the spiritual. I am often asked why I listen to speakers like him being a member of the LDS church.  I find it so interesting to hear all people on the subject of spirituality.

I was able to hear some of my other favorite authors.
Nick Orton from Tapping Solution

And Anita Moorjani

And the one that I really wanted to hear, who is my hero was Immaculee Ilibagiza.

It was such an inspirational weekend.  I enjoyed every minute of it.  I met some amazing people and heard some amazing people speak.

I ended the trip on the Santa Monica Beach. Here is what I wrote.
Ever since reading Gift of the Sea I have wanted to have a beach experience. contemplating life. I have just spent a weekend at an enlightenment seminar. I was here to met a hero Immaculee Ilibagiza. So here I am on Santa Monica Beach.
The seminar was fantastic!
There were a lot of enlightened people and I learned so much.
It is so interesting to go to one of these with a LDS perspective.
I feel so humbly grateful for the gospel.
What do I take away?
Be true to yourself.
Follow your heart.
Have less fear.
Take care of yourself.
Let others learn for themselves and have their own journey.
Don't try to fix them.
When you follow your heart and be true to yourself
you life's mission unfold.
