Life has sure changed since we moved to a condo and I work full time.
This was our garden this year.

Out with the old....

Our car of many sweet years died. This was our last moment with it when our mechanic told us that it was time for a new car. Thank you dear car for your many years of running our family around.

My journey

Every once in a while I feel compelled to evaluate my life and make changes. If I happen to write something in my blog called "my journey" that's what it is about. To start this out I would like to quote the words from one of my favorite songs. I feel that there is no time to waste and now is the time to make changes.

by Rascal Flatts says it all.
When The Sand Runs Out lyrics

I spent the morning at an old friend's grave
Flowers and Amazing Grace, he was a good man
He spent his whole life spinnin' his wheels

Never knowin' how the real thing feels
He never took a chance or took the time to dance
And I stood there thinking as I said goodbye
Today is the first day of the rest of my life

I'm gonna stop lookin' back and start movin' on
And learn how to face my fears
Love with all of my heart, make my mark
I wanna leave something here

Go out on a ledge, with out any net
That's what I'm gonna be about
Yeah I wanna be runnin'
When the sand runs out

'Cause people do it everyday
Promise themselves they're gonna change
I've been there, but I'm changin' from the inside out

That was then and this is now
I'm a new man, yeah, I'm a brand new man
And when they carve my stone they'll write these words
"Here lies a man who lived life for all that its worth"

And as the cold wind blows across the graveyard
I think I hear the voice of my old friend whisper in my ear

I'm gonna stop lookin' back and start movin' on
Learn how to face my fears
Love with all of my heart, make my mark
I wanna leave something here

Go out on a ledge, with out any net
That's what I'm gonna be about
Yeah I wanna be runnin'
When the sand runs out

HAPPY JOURNEY!

Heidi Allstate

Here are a few photos from Heidi's opportunity to sing in Allstate Chorus at the SLC Mormon tabernacle. She had the unusual opportunity to sing under the direction of Mack Wilberg and sang his arrangement of "Come thou Fount."

It was also Homecoming that evening. Here is Heidi and her date Cody

Essa Ricker

Our little community of Spanish Fork mourns the loss of Essa Ricker and Kelsea Webster and the injury of Savannah Webster who were struck by a train by their homes in Covered Bridge Canyon. Essa has been in the same ward as my family for many years and Kelsea just moved in 2 months ago. They were taking pictures and were some how hit by two trains passing by.

We will miss you Essa and Kelsea and pray for you Savannah that you will fight for life and recover. My prayers are also with your families that they may find peace during this trying tragic time.

Josh Groban August 13, 2011

Josh Groban in concert was fantastic!

He's voice is amazing.

He is such an entertainer.

Loved every minute. Wish it had lasted longer.

We had great seats! We were seated way way up high and because it wasn't a sell out, tickets were being given in our area to better seats. We lucked out and got great seats.

Wonderful evening. Great memories!

BOOK REVIEW-Goose Girl

Goose Girl by Shannon Hale

What I liked:
It is a great story line.
The story line is what kept me going to the end

What I didn't like:
It could have been written better.

I wasn't engaged the whole time. I just wanted to see how it ended.

BOOK REVIEW The Walk/Miles to Go

The Walk and
Miles to Go by Richard Paul Evans

I am really enjoying this series of books. I think I would love to be doing this....walking across America, thinking, renewing, reflecting. I also think that I would tire of it soon, because, home is really where my family is and that is where I want to be. Life sometimes does not allow time to do these very important things and to be able to devote lots of time to it....I like the idea.

BOOK REVIEW A Sister's Secret

A Sister's Secret
by Wanda Brunstetter

I have been hearing this author's name a lot lately and I love stories about the Amish and so I decided to pick up one of her books and read it. I will not read anymore. It was ok, but nothing to spur more interest in reading another.

The thing I really disliked was that there was a mystery going on in the book, be side the sister's secret, where an Amish family was being vandalized and robbed and you never find out who does it. It was silly not to find out. It bugged me.

So I am not a fan.

BOOK REVIEW- JANE EYRE

I must confess, this is the first time I have ever read this book. Wow, what a book.
I loved this book. Charlotte Bronte is a most amazing writer. She captures emotion and feelings so well. She knows how to put words together so beautifully. It amazes me.
It rates above Pride and Prejudge.
I cannot wait to read it again.

New York City, Day 6, Tuesday, June 28

Home Sweet Home!

Our trip has come to an end, but before we go Jen and I have one more thing to do.
The Harry Potter Exhibit!

New York City, Day 5, Monday, June 27

Today is the day! We have been working so hard and for many months for this evening performance at the Lincoln Center.

Rehearsal at the Manhattan Temple Monday morning.

Jen and I went to lunch at Chevy's.
Chevy's has been a family favorite and the ones in Utah have closed, so it was great to see this one in New York City. We got our favorite meal...Chicken flautas, with jalepeno jelly sauce and corn cake.

We got back to the hotel and changed our clothes for the concert. I would be at the concert hall for several hours and Jen went and visited Central park again and the Museum of Natural History.

At Lincoln Center.

Lots and lots of rehearsal and instructing and waiting.

Photo time! In front of the Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center.

What a thrill and amazing opportunity it was to perform this evening. It was a perfect evening. The concert was incredible. We all worked so hard and everything was just Fantastic! What an opportunity this has been.

After the concert we went on a dinner cruise. We passed by the Statue of Liberty and all the New York buildings and then by the many bridges including the Brooklyn Bridge.

I love this photo of the Cronks. They are one of my favorite couples. I admire them so much. I sing next to Karalyn and love her. Me and my dear friend Julie Boogert

Wonderful, memorable evening.
