Matthew's Wedding.

On February 27, Matthew Case, son of my brother, Jeff, married Devan Crow.
It was an exciting day for him and for all of our, his family.
We are so happy to have Devan in our family.
Devon and Matthew had a reception the evening before in the Provo Library.

Each layer was a different favor. Yummy!

Beverly Hills
Feb 2010

Becky Hill and I went to Beverly Hills for work and stayed at the Beverly Hilton. I have heard about this hotel all my life, that it is on the corner of Santa Monica Blvd and Wilshire Blvd. It is a hotel full of Hollywood history. Pictures of movie stars line the walls of this hotel. It was so much fun to stay there.

I had to take a picture of the sign by Santa Monica Blvd and Wilshire Blvd.
Becky and I were singing "Santa Monica Blvd" the whole time we were there.

On the way to our hotel I asked our driver if we would go near the LDS Temple. He looked puzzled and then I clarified it by saying, "The mormon temple". He knew just what I was talking about. He said we wouldn't be passing it on his regular route to the hotel, but he would he would be happy to drive by it. I was so excited. It was breathtaking and inspiring to go past it. I took a picture of it outside the window as we zoomed by.

Becky is a woman who is so prepared. She comes with everything you need in her little black and white bag. Do you need chapstick? She's got it. Do you need Excedrin? She's got it. We were a perfect match because I go completely unprepared.

There was this trail all along the beach. You could walk it or bike it or rollerblade it or whatever. The first day we walked and the second day we rode bikes.

As the day went on a funny thing happened with the moist pacific air. My hair went straighter and straighter and Becky's went curlier and curlier. It was funny to watch this happen.

The first day was such a contrast, from day to evening. We walked along Rodeo Drive in the evening. All the expensive cars! And stores! And people! This one was a Rolls Royce. We sneaked a few pictures.

There were people trying to make their mark in the world showing off their talents along this road. This young man was really good. We could have listened to him all day.

This man was also on the road showing off. He took to Becky. What can I say about him? Interesting.

Our first night on the town, we were walking down the street and looked across the street to see a long line coming out of a building. We were curious, indeed! Then we saw what all the fuss was about. The line was going to SPRINKLES CUPCAKES. I have seen these cupcakes on TV. Oprah loves them! So we hurried across the street and stood in the line. I mean, what the heck, we want to be part of the fun. I bought 4 cupcakes for me and my kids. $13.

Our hotel, the Beverly Hilton.
This was in the lobby of the hotel.

There were beautiful, fresh flowers everywhere in the hotel.

Our pool.

And this bed was next to the pool at our hotel. Hum.

Our second day was an adventure on the beach on bikes. We started off on Santa Monica beach, rented bikes, road along to Venice beach. That was an experience in observing people. Then we rode on to Marina Del Rey. We figured we rode 30 miles that day.

You've heard of Muscle Beach on Venice Beach? Well, here it is. Men are actually working out right on the beach in front of the world.

Also on Venice Beach were people selling their goods and talents. We thought this guy was interesting. He was totally zoned into his music and didn't have a clue of what was going on around him. It looked like he had been camped out there since the 60's.

Happy Birthday Heidi, 16 WOW!!!!!

Heidi wanted cupcakes! So we make these fresh strawberry cupcakes for her birthday.

Heidi's Surprise Party
We threw Heidi a surprise birthday party.
She thought she was planning a party and little did she know that we were planning a surprise party for her.
Lisa Rawle helped me come up with a list of surprisers.
Jen, Ian and I took Heidi to a play at Hale Theater
and then out to dinner.
While we were out Heidi's friends gathered at our house
waiting to surprise her.
When we arrived home, Heidi thought we were just stopping for a minute
and wanted to stay in the car.
We had to say that Jen needed her in the house to get her in.
When she came in, "SURPRISE."
She truly was surprised.
