Heidi EFY Ephraim
Heidi spent a week this summer at EFY Ephraim. She had a great time and you will have to read her journal to find out about it. EFY is such a great experience to strengthen testimonies, learn about ourselves and build friendships.
Camping In Ephraim
In July 2009 we needed to pick up Heidi from EFY in Ephraim to we decided to go camping in our little Subaru. We loaded the car and went up Manti canyon to find a place to camp. We pulled into a campsite and had a whole family watch our every move. It was a very large group of people, and they stopped everything and watched us. We were so embarrassed and tried to turn around and get out of there, when one of them, a man from the group came over to us and asked what we were doing. I told him we were trying to find a place to camp for the night. To our surprise he invited us to use one of the spots at their site. We accepted his invitation and started to set up our bed.....very simple since it was just in our car. The man came over again and asked if he could help us set up our tent. We were once again embarrassed to tell him that all 3 of us would be sleeping in our car. Then he left. A few minutes later he came back and invited us to come to their dinner and fireside. We decided that we better do that or he would keep coming over to us all evening. We had a great time. We shared our smores withe them and they shared their food with us. As we were talking we came to find out that the grandma there is related to one of my best friends in high school, Sandy Miller. This grandma is a Miller and is Sandy Miller's father's sister. Small world. It was a great, memorable evening. Very kind, generous people.
When we got back to our car that evening we roasted our own marshmellows on our little stove.
Ian gets ready to go to bed.
Ian and Jen ready for bed. Where was I sleeping you ask? In the front seat. It was not very comfortable to say the least. But lots and lots of fun.
The next morning we woke up bright and early and went and picked up Heidi.

Oquirrh Temple Open House
Tabernacle Choir Pioneer Concert
I went with my children, Jen, Heidi, and Ian to the Tab Choir Pioneer Concert on Friday. It was amazing. I think going to hear them sing is one of my greatest joys. The songs they sang, the whole program was so wonderful. They received 5 standing ovations in the middle of the concert. Mack Wilberg, their conductor and composer is my all time favorite composer. What a thrill to go.
