New York City, Day 1, Thursday June 23

Mapleton Chorale's trip to New York City.

The day has finally arrived when the Mapleton Chorale is going to New York City. We have been planning and preparing for this trip for so long. Finally here! So exited!

We loaded the buses at Maple Mountain High School at 5:00 am. Jen and I were the last to load. How did we get there so late? I hate to cut it so close.

Some of our group went to JFK and the rest of us went to Newark, NJ. I was in the later group.

Our flight was at 10:00 am. Lots of waiting at the airport.

Finally we were on our plane ready for take off.

Flying the friendly skies.
Once in NJ we loaded a bus for a 12 mile bus ride to the hotel, the Grand Hyatt.

It took us 2 hours in New York traffic to get to our hotel. Welcome to New York City!

Waiting for a room assignment at the Grand Hyatt Hotell in New York City!

I am here, I am finally here!
Outside our hotel window.

Jen lost her phone somewhere in our journey. :(

After we were settled, kind of, off we went in search of some great New York food.

Wanting to have the full New York experience, Jen and I ate a hot dog from a street vendor outside our hotel. DELICIOUS!

Our Home

Master Bedroom.

My new quilt.

I am pretty excited about my new quilt.
I found it hanging on a wall at the Corn Wagon Quilt Co. And loved it!.
After trying to find the pattern online (because it is out of print), and not finding it
I went back to Corn Wagon and asked if they would sell me this one.
(A little assertive for me, I know.)
And the answer was, "YES."
So here it is now on my wall.
Another cool thing about it, is that the designer herself, Mimi Dietrich, made this very one.
I have admired her quilts for years and now one of hers is mine!

Easter

Coloring Easter eggs, we kind of did it last minute this year and so we had to do the the old fashioned way....food coloring, vinegar and water.

Amy's last day in Nuclear Med cake. Bought to you by Thomas Tervort. I think it is the coolest cake and had to take a picture.
